Important Wi-Fi update for Penn State Faculty, Staff, and Technical Service Employees

Penn State is updating its Wi-Fi networks and authentication methods. As part of this change, Penn State is replacing the psu wireless network with eduroam as the University’s primary network.

The psu wireless network will be retired on June 30. Between April 1 and June 30, please complete the following action items:

  • Connect to eduroam: All devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, must be connected to the eduroam network and reconfigured to support the new authentication method. Visit wireless.psu.edu for setup instructions.
  • Configure University-provided devices: Your unit’s IT Support Team will provide guidance on how to connect University-provided devices to the eduroam network.
  • Move personal devices: If devices such as TVs, game consoles, and smart speakers cannot connect to eduroam, they will need to be moved to the new wireless network, psu-personal.

The new psu-personal Wi-Fi will serve as a supplemental network for devices that do not support the eduroam network’s authentication.

More details will be shared through digital signage, flyers, app notifications, and reminder emails. A project web page will also be published on it.psu.edu soon!

If you have questions, contact the IT Service Desk via chat, submit a Get Help ticket, call (814) 865-4357, or email ITservicedesk@psu.edu.
