Adobe Creative Cloud licenses to be suspended on December 17, 2023

To maintain compliance with Penn State’s contract agreement with Adobe, Penn State IT is changing access to Adobe Creative Cloud in December to provide no-cost software licenses only to those who require the Creative Cloud applications for their course of study, teaching, or job functions.

All current Penn State-issued Adobe Creative Cloud licenses will be suspended on December 17, 2023, making all Adobe accounts inaccessible. Beginning on December 18, you can request a new, no-cost, Penn State-issued license from Penn State Software based on your academic or workplace needs.

Software Available:

Students, faculty, and staff can choose from three software licenses that best suit their needs:

  • The Adobe Express license provides access to entry-level multimedia tools for creating graphics and video. Adobe Express is available to students, faculty, and staff for all purposes.
  • The Adobe Acrobat Pro license provides access to PDF creation, editing, and signing tools. Adobe Acrobat Pro is available to faculty and staff with workplace needs.
  • The Adobe Creative Cloud license provides access to professional multimedia applications and includes Adobe Express and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Adobe Creative Cloud is available to students, faculty, and staff with academic or workplace needs.

Request Process:

  • Beginning on December 18, you can request a new, no-cost, Penn State-issue license from Penn State Software based on your academic or workplace needs.
  • Once a license request has been made, the license is assigned to you automatically. New licenses are typically granted immediately following the request process but can take longer depending on request volume.
  • Students, faculty, and staff can adjust their licenses anytime based on their needs.
